V-Prop:

The VProp is designed for airplanes with a wide speed range or lack acceleration and climb during take off due to limited horse power.  Blade pitch is automatically controlled by electronics based on airflow over the small anemometer in the spinner cap.  To achieve the highest performance on various aircraft and engines combinations, sixteen different  curves can easily be programmed by the customer to adjust the propeller characteristics.

The propeller minimum  and maximum pitch is limited with mechanical stops. Should an electronic failure occur, the pitch will stay between these preset limits so the aircraft can be safely flown.

The spinners come in two diameter sizes: 283mm (11.14”) diameter or the 310mm (12.2”) diameter

DG-808B/DG-505MB Sailplane Drive Belt Tension Gage

Experience has shown that while operating a self-launching sailplane such as the DG808B, it is important to have proper propeller drive belt tension.  Now checking your drive belt tension is an easy task that can be done during every preflight inspection. This gage, superbly designed by a DG owner, can also be calibrated for use on other motorgliders with similar drive belts by adjusting the spring tension nut and scribing new marks on the pin.
